There are an abundance of local activities right on your door step, below are just a taster of the adventures to be had:

Crackington Haven offers the ideal place to relax but is also popular for swimming, surfing and body boarding. A dream training area for those who are more active! For a fishing break, why not try sea angling - bass, wrasse, pollock or mackerel are readily caught from the rocks. Bird watchers might see buzzards circling overhead or cormorants fishing, & the really lucky ones may even glimpse a basking shark or a dolphin. Nearby Widemouth Bay is also popular with beachgoers, surfers, and shore-fisherman. -
Is Glentruan Cottage an eco friendly house?
Yes, we recycle via 3 colour coded bins and ask all guests to minimise heat and water waste whilst staying at the property. The house is heated by an air source heat pump and was featured in BBC Spotlight as an example of heat efficiency. Solar panels provide piping hot water.
-
Are there any house rules we need to adhere to?
- Please do try to conserve energy by closing windows and doors when you are not in the property. Turn off the lights when not in the rooms and only use the water you require.
- Please ensure all patio doors are securely fixed once open using the door stays provided.
- Please ensure excessive sand is removed outside the house (tap & hose are available in the garden) and sand is not washed down the showers as this leads to blockages, flooding and lost deposits.
- Please do feel free to use the woodburner and BBQ but please do leave tidy and cleaned for the next guests.
- Please also email us (info@glentruanholidaycottage.co.uk) if there are anyways we can improve your next stay or do leave a note out for the house keeper which will be passed on.
